Here is how I replaced the rear brake pads on my 2009 GT500.
List of Tools
1. Brake Caliper Tool
2. Torque Wrench
3. 1/2 Wrench
Finally Got off my butt and worked on the brakes today..
STEP 1. Remove the two guide pin bolts with a 1/2 in wrench.
Here is the caliper tool I used to reset the piston. I had this from many moons ago But, you can rent them from Autozone..
You have to turn the piston in a clockwise direction while applying forward pressure with the tool. The backing plate on the tool pushes against the opposite side of the caliper while turning the handle. It can take substantial force to turn the pistons; wearing mechanics gloves while turning the handle helps.
I went ahead and purchase Autozone Duralast Gold Lifetime warranty and because of the good reviews on them...
Here is the finished Product..
Took about 15 minutes per side... WIKD500 is much happier now...
