Hello everyone!

My name is Melissa and live in Oak Harbor, WA. I bought my mustang last summer on a whim. It really wasn't the color and year that i wanted, but it is a convertable. There is nothing like driving with the top down on a warm Whidbey day. Problem is it rains too much. Because i bought my car in the summer when it was nice (the two weeks we had), i never even thought about the rain. Turns out it is not a good idea to buy a mustang from a dealership in the summer, because they aren't about to tell you if it leaks or not. Why it never occured to me to ask if it leaks, considering all the rain we get here, is beyond me.
I let it sit for about 2 months, during a rainy, snowing time of the year and when i went to get something out of it, it was moldy inside. UGH!! So, top leaks, driver window does not seal all the way, letting water in and window in the back is also leaking. Now i have to decide if i am going to put money into it and get a new top and have the inside detailed or try to clean it myself and use duck tape and super glue to seal holes, just kidding.
I do enjoy it when the weather is nice and my 14 year old, who will start driving next year seems to think that he i should give it to him to drive. Not sure about that one.
The reason i am on here to begin with is because i left work one day and found a card in the door of my car with this website on it and decided to check it out. So, here i am writing a post, talking about my 1st stang.

Welcome Melissa to Wickedstangs. I'm sorry for all the trouble you have with the Vert. I love mine and can totally agree with driving with the top down. But I was thinking, if you bought it just last summer, wouldn't the defects be cover under the warranty? I would think those are manufacturer's defect. May be worth taking it back to the dealer if you haven't already done so.
If you're in Oak Harbor, must be the Whidbey Island chapter who placed that card on your Mustang. 1WKDRSH is the president for that chapter. I believe they have a get together every Wednesday. Take a look at the Washington event page and see where it is. I'm sure they would love to meet you and your Mustang.
Again, welcome. Post up pictures of the vert.

Welcome Melissa we are glad that you logged on. I am sorry to hear about the problems your having with the stang. Stop on by DQ tomorow so we can take a look at the stang. I am sure some of us are willing to give you a hand on getting the mold out. A good detail inside and it should be good. One of our members just got his top re-done (ragtop4) he could let you know where he got it done at. Again welcome and we are looking forward to meeting you!

Welcome... I would try to wipe it out with a kitchen spray that has clorox in it to get rid of the mold...

Hey Melissa!
Don't worry bout the mold in your car.. I'll personally help you get all of that out, even if that means completely removing everything and putting it back together.
Adam (ragtop4) is in our whidbey chapter and got a great deal on getting his top done. Worth the investment I would say.
Look forward to seeing you at DQ tomorrow!
