Is anyone going to Barona Tomorrow? I wanna run the "11 5.0 and see what she can do. Anyone have a helmet I can borrow? I don't want to have to buy one.. Emilio if you see this I want a sticker please...

I am going tomorrow. The guys from WMD are having a BBQ. Last week at Fontana I was two 5.0s make a pass. Keep in mind that Fontana is not the fastest track. One 5.0 did 14.2. but he was on street tires and may have missed shift. The other did 12.99 on drag radials. Barona usually has decent track prep. On street tires I am guessing you would get a 8.4 to 8.9.
Whoa I am confused. I thought you got the gt500? So you got a 5.0 now? I will be there with a few other members. You can rent a helmet in the tower. Just give them your licence to hold.

Great time, Phil. Congrats.
As for me, I had a great time, but my car is in serious need of suspension mod. I think that's what it will be when $$ becomes available. The car ran 8.25, 8.29, 8.3 with 1.9 60ft during the day. But after it cool down and at night, it just didn't want to run anymore. 8.7 during the night, WTF????? And I thought I had better launches, too. But I will need suspension mod if I plan on breaking my PB.
Last night was definitely a great turnout. Haven't had one like that in a long time. Good to see the Race Car back on the track. Still work in progress. But next time, someone please remind Emilio to check the fuel level. :laugh:

Did you make another run after your first? I saw you drive off but wasn't sure if you went back in line or left. But your first run with a 8.7 was good, especially being stock and on street tires. Congrats on a beautiful car.

What was your time? I missed your runs.
Before I say this please don't blow this out of proportion. They way I did it before I actually got on the track was to be at a stop light ( make sure its safe and no kids ect crossing street of course) Watch the cross lanes and when they turn yellow your about to get your green. So try to be ready for that green. Its kinda hard to explain but that is how I do it but honestly you will never get better with out practice at the track. Always leave on the last yellow.
