Bullitt Makeover in Progress!

Hey Gang!

It's been awhile since I posted (work & family issues).

Anyway I just thought I'd let you know that I've started a total exterior makeover on my 2008 Bullitt.

Nothing crazy mind you – remember my Bullitt gets driven and has over 73,000 miles on the clock and the paint was getting kind of tired looking & had a lot of road rash. So she'll still be a BULLITT but I’ll be taking some styling cues from the original ’68 with an updated theme and a total re-spray of fresh Highland Green paint & a lot of clear coat!

Here’s a couple of pics to tease you.

Stay tuned……
Much MUCH more to come!

Ok Ladie's & Gent's,

The good news is "STAGE 1 (paint & body) of my BULLITT (#2978) is complete!

Exterior: Total RE-PAINT! NEW Trufiber SVT Fiberglass Heat Extractor Hood (lot's of block sanding!) and a Shelby GT/California Special Front facia! Lot's & LOT'S weat sanding & tons of Clear coat!

I also had them redo the rear black out on decklid in "Hot Rod Black" and did the same with the side mirrors. I also had the shop wet sand from stem to stern.
Likewise the headlights & side markers (front & rear) have been tinted.

So without further delays - here comes the car porn!

Bangastang used my Bullitt #2978 as the template for the modified one piece radiator and will be offering these for other Bullitt owners and as designed it will bolt right up to any 08/09 Bullitts without any modifications that still imploys the stock Bullitt CAI. I will also work with the Ford Racing 85mm CAI.

First Drive! Three & a half weeks apart is too long - but I'm happy!

As I indicated this is only STAGE1 of my BULLITT’s makeover between now and the Queen Mary Car Show in September.

So stay tuned – I’ve still got a few things I’m still working on between now & then. ;)

Thus far I'm pretty happy with the wheels.

Ordered these from American Muscle.

They're their "Staggered Anthracite Bullitt Wheel & NITTO Tire Kit - 18x9/10 (08-12)" and were on sale.
Came with the following:
(2) 18x9 Anthracite Deep Dish Bullitt Wheels
(2) 18x10 Anthracite Deep Dish Bullitt Wheels
(2) NITTO Extreme Performance NT555 255/45-18 Tires
(2) NITTO Extreme Performance NT555 275/40-18 Tires
Free Mounting & Balancing
Free optional nitrogen fill
Fits 2010-2012 V6 and GT Mustangs

I think they look alot like the wide rimmed wheels of the 2001 Bullitts.

I also did the TPMS kit and will be adjusting that shortly.

My only real complaint is that neither the OEM Bullitt & the "On-in-60" seconds center caps fit. So while I like the wheels the AM center caps aren't going to be on long. Just need to figure out what I'm going to do.

I'm also toying with the idea of painting these to match the darker Argent Gray original Bullitt wheel color. But I still might keep them as is - just haven't decided yet because they look pretty sharp as they are, so I think for now I'm going to give these a little time and see how I feel in a week or so before I decide.

That is way cool!! Looks like you're going to own the Bullitt class at the Queen Mary show.

Thanks! I won the Bullitt modified class - let's hope whoever votes appreciates my mods like you do.

Truth is my vision was whatever I did I wasn't going to venture away from the Bullitt's "Less is More - I mean Business" theme.

Any plans for selling your old wheels??
