What is the advantage or disadvantage of headlight splitters? Is it purely cosmetic ? And would you guys recommend them?

they look pretty nice and it just a cosmetic thing..

Red and StarAngel have it on their cars. They look nice and is purely cosmetic.
I have them on my car.. I think they make it look meaner. It doesnt effect lights or anything. It is just show
