My Shelby will soon be a garage Queen!

Due to the often violent weather here in West Texas, especially the danger of severe hail storms, I'm buying a daily driver. My Shelby GT will be buffed up nice and covered in the garage for fun and shows only.... Here's what I'm picking up this weekend! I see a 302 swap in this cars future!

At least its in the Ford family. I like it that you're picking up a vert. Better put some reinforcement in that chasis with a 302 in it. That will be a nice pick-up, Steve. Congrats!

Thanks Danny, I got them down to $5800 out the door and the car is cherry. The Monster Miata Kit comes with subfram connectors etc.. and a 302 crate motor will drop right in... It will be a couple years before I do it though. It will be my DD this winter, so the shelby stays safe. I do plan a a CAI and roll bar for it very soon, then some new rims and wider tires.

That's a great looking car Steve. I do like the way the miata looks. Must be fun to drive.

Well its only 150 HP, but its a 6 speed and revs up 7500 and its very light and has IRS.. So yes it it is fun to drive. Gotta admit the Shelby is much more fun to drive, but for a DD this one is great. a few mods are in store for the near future, short throw shifter, splitter, CAI, rear spoiler, roll bar, and some rims/ tires.

I feel the same for my Focus, too. 146 HP, but light. Maybe put in a turbo kit in the future. But that's after I'm done with the Mustang. Probably by that time, I will be trading the Focus in for the 2014.

I'm off to pick up the car in an hour! Danny have you seen the designs for the 2014? has a very Astin Martin look. They are going more European with it... I'll send pics when I get the car home. Now I can totally focus on tricking out the Shelby, maybe I can catch up with Red!

I haven't seen that one. I've seen so many different concept drawings. None seems appealing to me yet.

Can't wait to see the new DD.

I wish I was there for this, she's got the top of the line suspension and 6 speed tranny, we could turn her into a beast of a track car.
