No doubt this is a killer deal, and you could part the thing out for twice that much. But if you stick to building a forged stroker for your street fox, you'll be looking at low 7's 1/8th | high 10's 1/4 in an award winning street legal show car worthy of a magazine spread.

How about option 4: No, you should get a road course car, so you can play in the twisties too!

Unless, of course, you're really just looking for a reason to trailer a car to the track every time; so you'll have a way home if you break it... ...then yes, this chassis is the perfect foundation for unrepentant hooliganism.

The only thing I am worried about is what made it a salvage title, I don't know if you want a race car that has been crashed before. Otherwise, It looks like a good deal and this would let you go all out on a drag car.

I agree with IgottaV8 on this... The plus side is it does have a lot done to it, but it really boils down to what you want to do with it. If you see it as something that you have a plan for, I'd say go for it, but just be cautious that once you start working on it, your going to have commit or sell it... Or, it might be a good idea to hold off and see what opportunities present themselves. There might be something out there and when you see it, you'll KNOW you want it...

I agree with the guys above.... It will be like the drag cars protege... It would be a sick project, the car 2500 I spoke to someone in the club that purchased a 347 stroker for 900 not complete but mostly everything, no heads no cam or oil pump... Still it would be a fun car. I think you should get it!

Glad it sold. There was nothing special about that car. An unfinished cage could have been a can of worms. If it wasn't done right you would be cutting it out and starting over. If you get a car with a cage make sure it's been certified or you could get screwed. I wouldn't buy a 10 gallon cell for a race car either. Why put all of that extra weight in the car? If you crash there is that much more fuel to burn too.

I'm not to afraid of a salvage title in a fox nowadays. They aren't valued at much and the slightest accident can cause well more in damage expenses than the car is worth and people will total them out. Always check the frame anyway.

The rear suspension parts are not the best options available either, but I guess it would all depend on your goals for the car. I have seen a lot better rolling chassis for that price. The best thing that car had was fresh paint.

Just my .02

I guess my intuition was correct. I looked at this car multiple times, but could not get excited enough to pull the trigger.

I'm busy working my own clutch and rear axle this weekend and I sill have to finish up my son's Cobra. Plenty of projects on the menu, a race car will just have to wait.

Still have the race car Emilio keeps breaking to work on. LOL!

:iagree: In all honesty I think you made a good choice... If it's not screaming your name and your not really excited , it's best to wait for the one that you'll KNOW you want... There'll be more surfacing shortly!
