ok this is a complete quote from MustangsteveGT on SVTP, this happened to him not me, just figured that some of you (mainly military) might want to read this.
"Me and some other people had just got back from being deployed to Haiti for a few months.
A lot of us who were augmented from the Chicago area, scheduled to fly back on a United flight from Norfolk, VA. It's worth reading.
I'll try to summarize this incident as much as possible and get to the point.
-we show up 3 hours early off the ship, flight gets delayed 3 hours, total 6 hours waiting airport.
-we have drinks but are by no means belligerent. eating lots of food the whole time waiting.
-we get through security and onto the plane just fine.
-we get seated. taxi around for a while. pilot states we will take off in another 20 minutes.
-one military member towards the back asks stewardess for water for himself and the military member that was sitting up front next to me.
-another military member next to me gets up because he really had to pee and we were on the plane for like a half hour at that point. stewardess asks him to sit down and he immediately complies.
-we sit there for what felt like another 10 minutes or more then all the sudden the plane takes u-turn back to a terminal with cop cars parked at it.
-police board the plane and take the member next to me and the one in the back off the plane that had asked for water. i am shocked and confused at this point because after be present witness to the scene, nobody had done anything worthy of being taken off???
-i give it a few minutes, as i could see the stewardess was involved somehow and wanted to give time before asking what just happened. i needed to know because after those 2 were removed i was now i highest ranking person flying home with our group.
-i explained that to the stewardess and asked her what happened. she said they were too drunk and also indicated they weren't coming back on. it took a minute for that to sink in because i know this simply was not fact.
-so between one guy asking for water because they had drinks and another one getting up to pee and sitting back down, that entails being belligerent??? BULL-****
-i told the stewardess "you know, those guys you just kicked off just got back from treating amputated kids in Haiti. we're just a group of Navy people trying to get home and see our families." (I refuse to just sit silent when I know something is WRONG)
-she storms off to the front of the plane "I didnt know they were Navy. #$%#$@#$@##@$...."
-i thought, well maybe she has a soul of some kind or something reminiscent of a conscience and is going to get those guys back on this plane. NOPE!!! a cop came on board and took me off too.
-the cops were kind of tense first thinking we were being wild or something after whatever that crazy bitch on the plane said. the cops gave us this spiele about how the airline can come back at us for civil damages. one wanted to screw us and the other two were pretty chill. we said again and again how we did NOTHING WRONG. they gave us a breathalyzer and 2 of us were so sober we could have driven home. it was just funny after that, they escorted us to the cabs so we could get a hotel to fly out the next day. one cop even stated that the airlines had been doing this and this wasn't a rare occasion. So i guess United loves to kick people off now. They get your money but get to remove the weight of you and your luggage to save them fuel? nice way to support your country.
-United has NO, I repeat NO customer service phone line at all. They have an e-mail system where you e-mail them and they get back to you. I did that THREE TIMES. This happened last month and United has never gotten back to me.
-The conduct of their staff that day was disgraceful and repulsive. Whenever I think of the incident i feel very alienated and outright sick to my stomach."
